Privacy Policy — sqTile Launcher

Last updated:

In short. sqTile is a local-first home-screen launcher. Your apps, layout, calendar, notifications, to-dos, reminders and habits are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us. We do not run ads, we do not sell or share your data, and there is no account or sign-in. A few optional features talk to third parties (weather, in-app purchase, crash reporting) — those are described below.

1. Who we are

This app (“sqTile Launcher”, the “App”) is provided by Grzegorz Radomski TECH (the “data controller”, “we”, “us”).

2. Our approach: local-first

sqTile is designed so that your personal content stays on your device. The App has no backend server of ours — we operate no servers that receive your launcher content. The data the App works with is stored in the App’s private on-device storage and is removed when you delete the data in the App or uninstall it.

3. Data processed on your device only

The following never leaves your device through the App and is not sent to us:

4. Data shared with third parties (only when you use those features)

The App does not include advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across apps. The only outbound connections are:

FeatureWhat is sentTo whomTheir policy
Weather tile (optional) The city name you type when searching, and the latitude/longitude of the city you select, to retrieve a forecast. No device GPS location is used and no identifier about you is attached. Open-Meteo open-meteo.com/en/terms
Pro unlock (optional purchase) The purchase is handled by Google Play Billing. We receive only whether you own the Pro product — we do not receive or store your payment details. Google Play policies.google.com/privacy
Crash reporting If the App crashes, a diagnostic report (device model, OS version, app version, the state at the time of the crash, and a Crashlytics-generated installation identifier) is sent so we can fix bugs. It does not include your launcher content, calendar, or notifications. Google Firebase Crashlytics firebase.google.com/support/privacy

6. Data retention

On-device data persists until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. Crash reports held by Google Firebase are retained according to Google’s retention schedule (typically up to 90 days for detailed reports). Purchase records are held by Google Play.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Your rights

Because your content lives on your device, you can access and erase it directly in the App (delete tiles/items) or by uninstalling. Under the GDPR and similar laws you may also have the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing of personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO). For requests relating to crash reports or purchases, contact us and we will help, and you may also use Google’s own controls. To reach us: contact@gradomski.dev.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
